(P1.6) Working with the SExtractor++ software
SExtractor++, is a new, open source software for detecting and measuring sources in astronomical images. It is a complete redesign of the original SExtractor software with many advanced features and written in C++. In this contribution we illustrate the software design and present some typical data reduction examples. SExtractor++ features an extensible design, and the user can easily write plugins that define and use configuration parameters, compute object properties and add the results to the output. We present use cases for new functionality implemented as plugins. SExtractor++ is being developed in the context of the Euclid satellite projects, however it is distributed as an independent package, and beta version of the package is available for testing purposes.
